Novaschool and SDG
Sustainable Development Goals
On September 25th of 2015, world leaders adopted a total of 17 global goals, which we know as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to involve all social actors in the fight against poverty, inequality, injustice and climate change, within the framework of a new sustainable development agenda, the 2030 Agenda.
In their resolution, the signatory countries acknowledged to "resolve to end poverty and hunger in the world by 2030, to combat inequalities within countries and, among them, to build peaceful, just and inclusive societies, to protect human rights and promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, and to ensure lasting protection of the planet and its natural resources."
Based on the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, at Novaschool during this last year we are working with special attention on the development of competencies for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals with the aim of committing and motivating the entire educational community to participate actively.
In Novaschool we are aware of what this means for us as educational centres, and the influence we can exert on the educational community, students, families and workers, a very important asset of society, to achieve change.
Through different activities that we carry out in our centres, students know and reflect on the SDGs, analyse and identify challenges and needs of the environment, and propose ideas to solve them. From school, we carry out different projects in which students design actions that lead them to act in the environment with the intention of improving it.
SUSTAINABLE SCHOOLS
Novaschool is committed to photovoltaic self-consumption
We have a public and accessible demonstrator center in the School Office of the centres from which we can consult the energy production in real time, in addition to measuring the amount of energy we consume in our facilities on that generated by self-consumption. Below you can see the data in real time:
